Ibn Taymiyya: Myself & Others & Our Forefathers!

Ibn Taymiyya brazenly claims that everyone including himself was upon
misguidance until he somehow supposedly happened upontrueguidance and was guided: Ibn Taymiyya mentions in his Majmu’at al-Fatawa (6/258) regarding the issue of non-eternal attributes subsisting in Allah’s essence: However, this issue, the issue of visitation [to the grave of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] and other issues besides these have emanated from the later scholars (muta’akh’khirun) and there is a lot of confusion therein. At first, even myself and others were upon the way of our forefathers in this – we used to advocate the doctrine of the innovators.
Then when it became clear to us what the Messenger [sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam] has brought, the matter became one of either following what Allah has revealed or following what we found our forefathers upon, and what was necessary (wajib) is following the Messenger [sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam].

We are Now Holier-Than-Thou

Mu-hammed ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab followed his imam, Ibn Taymiyya, in this respect, while taking it a step further, and based on this perverse understanding, he actually had the audacity to make takfir upon his teachers and all the scholars around him – he basically even made takfir upon himself prior to having supposedly happened upon such “true” guidance:

Mu-hammed ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab mentions in his letter to the Qadi of al-Dir’iya, Shaykh ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Isa, (al-Durar al-Saniyya10/51): At that time I did not know the meaning of la ilaha illa Allahnor did I know the religion of Islam prior to this blessing which Allah has graciously bestowed. It was the exact same thing with my teachers, none of them had any such knowledge
Therefore any of the ulama of ‘Arid, who claimed that he knew the meaning of la ilaha illa Allah or that he knew the meaning of Islam, has certainly lied, falsified, and deceived the people. If he claimed any of his teachers had any such knowledge, then he has certainly lied, falsified, and deceived the people while praising himself with something which he does not possess.
--

We are More Holier-Than-Thou

Quote: Wahhabi/Salafi:

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked:  What is the ruling on praying behind an imam from the Bareilawi sect, who believes that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is alive and present and can see us?

He replied: If they believe that, then they have gone against ijmaa‘ (consensus of the ummah), and if they seek his help, then that is shirk, so it is not permissible to pray behind them. End Quote. [Thamaraat at-Tadween, p. 8 ] Here

Wahhabi/Salafi Masheikh say:

Majority Muslims (Ash’ari/Maturidi) are Misguided

Quote: Al-Albaani (d.1999CE):  If cooperating with a [n ash’ari] man like this does not lead to him [i.e., the Salafi] neglecting his [Salafiaqidah, then that is something allowed without doubt.

In fact, I believe that part of the religious good of a believer (wahhabi/salafi) who is strong in his eemaan is for him (wahhabi/salafi) to cooperate with other Muslims (Asha’ri/Maturidiwho have, due to reasons past or present, deviated from the Salafi ’aqidahIt is more deserving for this Salafi believer to cooperate with these people (Majority Muslims) because he will find an appropriate opportunity to convey the Salafi  da’wha tthem (Majority Muslims). And what has happened, and I know this from experience, is that those people (Ash’ari/Maturidi) who oppose us (wahhabi/salafi) will take one of two stances towards this righteous, Salafi believer: they will either respond to his call and will thus lean towards accepting the Salafi madhhab and will turn away from their khalafi madhhab—and this has happened many times, or they will reject him and his madhhab and will refuse to work with him …”  [Mutafarriqaat lil-Albaani, 6, no. 15.]  Here

al-Albani compares Hanafi fiqh to the Gospel. [Source: In his commentary 18- on al-Mundhiri's Mukhtasar SahiMuslim, 3rd ed. (Beirut: al-Maktab al-Islami, 1977, p. 548)]. Note: This phrase was removed from later editions.

al-Albani said: "Many of those who interpret figuratively [the Divine Attributes] are not heretics (zanâdiqa), but they say what heretics say," and "figurative interpretation is the very same as nullification (al-ta'wîl `ayn al-ta`tîl)." (1)

Albani suggests that Imam al-Bukhari is a disbeliever for interpreting the Divine Face as dominion or sovereignty (mulk) in the verse"Everything will perish save His countenance" (28:88) in the book of Tafsir in his Sahih: "Except His wajh means except His mulk, and it is also said: Except whatever was for the sake of His countenance."

al-Albani blurts out: "No true believer would say such a thing" and "We should consider al-Bukhari innocent of that statement."(2)

Upon Shirk?

Narrated 'Uqba bin 'Amir: One day the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم went out and offered the funeral prayers of the martyrs of Uhud and then went up the pulpit and said, "I will pave the way for you as your predecessor and will be a witness on you. By Allah! I see my Fount (Kauthar) just now and I have been given the keys of all the treasures of the earth (or the keys of the earth) "BY ALLAH! I AM NOT AFRAID YOU WILL WORSHIP OTHERS ALONG WITH ALLAH AFTER MY DEATH, BUT I AM AFRAID YOU WILL FIGHT WITH ONE ANOTHER FOR WORLDLY THINGS"
[Sahih Bukhari: Volume: 2, Book 23, Hadith, 428]

This hadith categorically proves that Prophet (
صلى الله عليه وسلم) did not fear we will indulge in Shirk.

The Wahhabi/Salafis try to misinterpret this hadith by saying it refers only to the tenure of Sahaba.

Let's read Fath ul Bari Sharh Sahih ul Bukhari in this regard:

Hafidh Ibn Hajr al-‘Asqallaani (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The words “I do not fear that you will associate others with Allah” mean: (I do not fear that you will do that) "ALL TOGETHER, BECAUSE THAT HAPPENED WITH SOME OF THEM" may Allah protect us. This hadeeth is one of the miracles of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), hence the author narrated it under the heading of the signs of Prophethood. [Fath al-Baari, 3/211]

Plus this hadith is "general" in meaning and cannot be made Khaas until and unless there is a specific hadith which categorically says that it applies only on Sahaba.

No general hukm of Prophet (s) can be made Khass without another Nass on it.
Also remember this hadith says "YOU WILL FIGHT WITH ONE ANOTHER FOR WORLDLY THINGS" so if we apply it only on Sahaba them Rawafid/Shia would become right in asserting that Sahaba fought with each other on worldly things (Naudhobllah)

It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed said: “The Messenger of Allah (
) came out to us when we were discussing Dajjal (False Christ) and said: ‘Shall I not tell you of that which I fear more for you than Dajjal?’ We said: ‘Yes.’ "HE SAID: HIDDEN POLYTHEISM (SHIRK AL-KHAFI)" when a man stands to pray and makes it look good because he sees a man looking at him.’” [Ref: Ibn Majah, Vol.1 B37, Hadith,4204]

This hadith is declared "Good" by leading Muhadith of Salafis i.e. Zubayr Ali Zai [Dar-us-Salam English Version of Ibn Majah, Hadith # 4204]
The Prophet (Peace be upon him) feared "SHIRK AL-KHAFI (HIDDEN/MINOR SHIRK)" more than he feared Dajjal and this is a proof that Prophet (Peace be upon him) did not fear of Shirk al-Jalli (Shirk al Akbar) to become prevalent in Majority of Ummah.

Although this chain is weak but the hadith becomes authentic due to previous hadith shown and many other Shawahid.

Imam al-Hakim
narrates that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: I fear upon my ummah the "SMALLER" from of Shirk (polytheism) and desire. Shaddad (RA) asked the Prophet (Peace be upon him): Would your Ummah associate partners with Allah after you? The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: Yes, (but) "THEY WILL NOT WORSHIP THE SUN OR THE MOON OR STONES OR IDOLS, BUT THEY WILL DO ACTIONS TO PLEASE OTHERS" [al-Hakim in Mustadrak ala Sahihayn, Volume # 4, Page # 366]
Imam al-Hakim (rah) said after this hadith:
Translation: This hadith has "SAHIH CHAIN" but is not narrated (by Bukhari and Muslim) [ibid]

This hadith is narrated by a totally different chain from the previous one, so this also becomes authentic due to Usool ul hadith.

Book 39, Hadith 6752: (Sahh Muslim)
Jabir reported: I heard Allah's Apostle (
صلى الله عليه وسلم) as saying: Verily, the "SATAN HAS LOST ALL HOPES" that the worshipers would ever worship (him) in the peninsula of Arabia, but he (is hopeful) that he would sow the seed of dissension amongst them.

This hadith proves
that Wahabi/Salafi movement was based on false grounds by M-uhammed bin Abdul Wahab who declared Muslims in Arabia of Shirk.

One who accuses other Muslim of Shirk is more deserving to be Mushrik

Translation: Hudhaifa i.e. Ibn al Yaman (ra) said that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: Verily, I fear about a man from you who will read the Qur'an so much that his face will become enlightened and he will come to personify Islam. This will continue until Allah desires. Then these things will be taken away from him when he will disregard them by putting them all behind his back and will attack his neighbour with the sword accusing him of Shirk. "THE PROPHET WAS ASKED - WHICH OF THE TWO WILL BE DESERVING OF SUCH AN ACCUSATION? - THE ATTACKER OR THE ATTACKED? THE PROPHET REPLIED: THE ATTACKER (ONE ACCUSING THE OTHER OF SHIRK)
[References with Authentication on Hadith: It is Narrated by Ibn Hibban in his Sahih, Volume No. 1, Page No. 282, Bukhari in his Tarikh ul Kabir, Volume No. 4, Page No. 301, Haythami in Majma uz Zawaid, where he declared its chain to be “Good”, Imam Ibn Kathir declared the Chain as “Jayyid (strong)" in his Tafsir al Qur'an al Azim, Volume No. 2, Page No. 266]

What a beautiful hadith without doubt.

Indeed the extremists
who accuse majority of Muslims of Shirk are directly proven as Mushrikeen themselves according to Sayyidna Muhammad (Salallaho alaihi wasalam). If they still persist in their Baatil taweel then here are other Hadiths which we Muslims should always keep handy to prove extremists as cheaters and Liars.

From `Ubayd Allah ibn `Umar, from Nafi`: A man said to Ibn `Umar: "I have a neighbour who bears witness against me that I commit shirk." He replied: "Say: 'La Ilaha ill Allah,' you will make him a liar."[Imam Ibn Asakir in Tibiyeen al Kidhb al Muftari, Page No. 373]

Translation: Akrama i.e. Ibn Ammar said that he heard Sawwar ibn Shabib al-A`raji say that he was sitting in Ibn `Umar's house when a man came and said: "O Ibn `Umar! There are groups of people bearing witness against us and attributing to us kufr and shirk." Ibn `Umar replied: "Woe to you! Did you not say: 'La Ilaha iL Allah'?!" Whereupon the entire household began to say La Ilaha Ill Allah until the house was shaking. [Ibid]
